Prairie Falcon Audubon has always been a volunteer effort. No paid staff, no corporate backing, just a group of neighbors in south-central Idaho who believe that when people know the birds around them, they take better care of the places those birds depend on.

That belief shapes everything we do. It’s why our monthly programs at the College of Southern Idaho are free and open to anyone who walks in. It’s why our field trips welcome first-time birders alongside people who’ve been at it for fifty years. It’s why our members spend 24 hours covering 300 miles of the South Hills each year, counting nearly 150 breeding species so scientists have the data they need. And it’s why we speak up for the sagebrush, the canyon walls, and the lodgepole forests that make this corner of Idaho unlike anywhere else, home to the Prairie Falcon we’re named for, and to the Cassia Crossbill, a bird found nowhere else on Earth.

Doing this work well costs money. Guest presenters travel to Twin Falls. Bird counts need supplies and coordination. Educational materials, event space, and the tools that make citizen science possible all add up. Membership dues cover part of it. Donations cover the rest.

A gift to Prairie Falcon Audubon stays local. It doesn’t fund a national office or a marketing department. it funds the next program, the next field trip, the next count, and the quiet, steady advocacy that keeps Magic Valley birds and their habitats on the map.
